Cheltenham born midfielder Ryan Burge has left Sutton United. The 28-year-old helped Sutton win the National League South title last season, earning promotion to the top tier of non-league football.
Burge made a total of 17 appearances, scoring three times, in a Sutton shirt.
A club statement said: “Ryan has decided to leave the club due to the travelling distance being too much, he will be looking to continue his career closer to home.”
Burge said: “I am extremely thankful to the club, Paul Doswell (manager) and the fans for their support since joining in February.
“Being part of the team that achieved promotion and winning the league is something I’m very proud of and it was always a pleasure to wear the Sutton United shirt.”
Burge has Football League experience with the likes of Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale and Newport County, also appearing on loan for Oxford United.
